Removal of Dorsal Silicone, Tip Septal Extension Graft, and Silicone Capsule & Tip Cartilage Repositioning

When the silicone, capsule, and grafted tip cartilage are removed and tip cartilage repositioning is performed at the same time,
during the contraction period of 3-6 months the tip looks slightly pinched and the nose does not appear to lengthen.
Once the contraction period has passed, however, the tip relaxes naturally and the nose lengthens as well.
Of course, this may vary from person to person.
Let us look, through a case study, at how a tip that looked pinched during the contraction period
changes once that period has passed.

After surgery, the pinched look of the tip gradually relaxed over time,
and at 4 months after surgery the tip has become soft and relaxed, as the photos show.

Before removal, the nostrils were asymmetric and the columella leaned to the left.
The nostrils were also pulled upward into a pointed shape, but as time passed after surgery
they became symmetric, rounder, and more natural in shape.
The nostrils became symmetric, rounder, and more natural in shape.

Seen from another angle as well, the nose settles into a more natural shape as time passes.
Compared with 1 month after removal, at 4 months the nose is longer and more relaxed.
