A nasolabial fold thread lift is a non-surgical lift that, rather than placing threads directly around the mouth, pulls the sagging upper cheek that causes nasolabial folds toward the temple so that the fold itself is refined to become naturally shallower.
Cog threads of the PDO (Polydioxanone), PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid), and PCL (Polycaprolactone) types are inserted from a temporal entry point through the upper cheek to the nasolabial fold, and in addition to the physical pull, the induction of collagen production as the threads break down is added.
Where needed, the vector is extended to the marionette (jowl) lines on both sides of the mouth so that the area is refined as a connected whole, and if the fold is very deep, a combination with nasolabial fold filler is recommended.
