Why Lisoom

Overview Refining the V-Line by Addressing
Cheek and Jaw Sagging

A jawline (V-line) thread lift is a non-surgical lift that pulls the sagging soft tissue of the cheeks and jawline along the blurred jawline upward toward the temple to refine the V-line contour again.
Absorbable threads of the PDO (Polydioxanone), PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid), and PCL (Polycaprolactone) types are inserted into the dermis and subcutaneous layer; cog threads anchor the tissue to create traction, and mono threads support the induction of collagen production.
When the bone structure itself is large, the extent of the result is limited, so we also consider whether bone surgery would be more suitable; when soft-tissue sagging is the main cause, the contour is refined with a vector design matched to the direction of sagging.

Jawline Traction SUTURE guide image

SutureJawline Traction

Soft tissue that has sagged along the blurred jawline is pulled toward the temple and backward. Cog threads anchor the tissue to re-create the V-line contour, and mono threads support collagen stimulation. When the bone structure itself is large, the extent of the result is limited.

Lifting Sagging Cheeks HYBRID guide image

HybridLifting Sagging Cheeks

When the contour has blurred because the cheeks have sagged downward, they are pulled upward toward the temple. The V-line is linked not only to the jaw but also to sagging of the cheek contour, so a natural result requires cheek traction as well. Traction is stable only when the vector direction is accurate.

Frontal Balance PARTIAL guide image

PartialFrontal Balance

The left-right balance of the contour seen from the front is refined as well. Sagging is often asymmetric, so the number of threads and the entry positions are planned differently for each side. Temporary left-right differences after treatment settle with time.

Profile Curve INCISION guide image

IncisionProfile Curve

The curve of the profile and the chin-to-neck angle are refined together. A natural V-line is created only when the traction line is decided by looking at the whole profile contour, not the jawline alone. If sagging of the neck contour is also present, a separate assessment is needed.

OUR PRINCIPLE

Core Values
The Principles RESUM Keeps

For the V-line, the direction of traction, more than the number of threads, determines the result. RESUM assesses bone structure and soft-tissue sagging separately and then explains the suitable scope of treatment.

Right Vector

Right Vector

Directional Design

After first setting the direction of sagging and the stable line to lift toward, we decide the entry point and the insertion angle. Even with the same number of threads, a natural V-line refinement is possible only when the vector is accurate; if the vector is off, the result looks unnatural or fades quickly.

Proper Count

Proper Count

Right Thread Count

The result does not increase in proportion to the number of threads. We recommend only the appropriate number for the area; too many threads raise the risk of dimpling, knot irritation, and asymmetry. If you are concerned that the result may fall short, we reassess the thread type (such as PCL) rather than increasing the number of threads.

Honest Limit

Honest Limit

Honest Limitations

When the jaw bone structure itself is large, we explain clearly at your consultation that the extent of the result from a V-line thread lift is limited. If you are at a stage where bone surgery or another method is more suitable, we tell you so honestly and do not push the treatment.

Thread Types and How They Work

Thread Types and How They Work

For the jawline, traction matters, so cog threads, which have fine barbs on their surface, are mainly chosen, with smooth mono threads supporting collagen stimulation. The thread physically pulls the sagging jawline, and as it breaks down a secondary effect is added: it induces collagen production. Taking into account each type's breakdown rate and strength of collagen stimulation, the thread is chosen according to the stage of sagging. PDO (Polydioxanone): breaks down in 6-8 months, lasts 9-12 months · PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid): breaks down in 12-18 months, relatively strong collagen stimulation · PCL (Polycaprolactone): breaks down in 18-24 months, relatively long-lasting · Cog (traction) + mono (collagen stimulation) forms used together

Vector Design and Left-Right Balance

Vector Design and Left-Right Balance

The V-line is linked not only to the jaw but also to sagging of the cheek contour, so it looks natural only when cheek traction is included. After first setting the direction of sagging and the stable line to lift toward, we decide the entry point and the insertion angle. Sagging is often asymmetric, so the number of threads and the entry positions are planned differently for each side to refine the balance of both the front view and the profile. Jawline-to-cheek contour pulled toward the temple · Vector matched to the direction of sagging designed first · For left-right asymmetry, the number of threads and entry positions adjusted differently · Profile curve and chin-to-neck angle assessed together as well

Precautions
Aftercare & Precautions

N · 01 With a jawline thread lift, the V-line result does not increase in proportion to the number of threads; the direction of traction determines how the contour is refined.
N · 02 When the jaw bone structure itself is large, how far the jawline can be lifted is limited, so we judge at the consultation whether another method such as bone surgery would be more suitable.
N · 03 Jawline sagging is often asymmetric, so the number of threads and the entry positions are planned differently for each side, and temporary left-right differences settle with time.
N · 04 If sagging of the neck contour is also present, traction of the jawline alone does not refine the profile, so a separate assessment is needed.
N · 05 If you are concerned that the result may fall short, reassessing with a longer-lasting thread type such as PCL, rather than increasing the number of threads, lowers the risk of dimpling and knot irritation.
N · 06 For 1-2 weeks after treatment, avoid opening your mouth wide, exaggerated facial expressions, and strong massage so that the traction line along the jawline can settle.
N · 07 This treatment is not performed during pregnancy or if there is an active skin infection. Results vary from person to person, so a consultation with a board-certified specialist is required.

FOR WHOM

Candidates

Consider a Consultation If

05 Recommended Cases

01 Those in their 30s-40s whose V-line has blurred because of soft-tissue sagging running from the cheeks to the jawline.
02 Those who want to refine the curve of their profile and their jawline without the burden of surgery.
03 Those who wish to combine it step by step with other lifting treatments such as a thread lift, Ultherapy, or Thermage.
04 Cases assessed as having a jaw bone structure that is not large in itself, with soft-tissue sagging as the main cause.
05 Those whose previous V-line treatment result faded quickly and who want the thread type and plan reassessed.

Doctor's Note

With a V-line thread lift, inserting more threads does not bring a proportionally greater result. Which line is lifted, and in which direction, determines the result. In our anti-aging skin practice, we use only thread types that have been academically validated, and we tell you honestly that for contour changes caused by the bone structure itself, another treatment may be more suitable. We put a natural refinement of the contour ahead of an excessive number of threads.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled the questions patients ask most often before a consultation.

It is a thread lift that refines the V-line by using absorbable threads to pull sagging soft tissue along the cheeks and jawline upward toward the temple. PDO, PLA, or PCL threads are inserted into the dermis and subcutaneous layer, and cog threads anchor the tissue to create traction. Because access is made with a fine needle without incisions, the recovery burden is light.
The types used are PDO (breaks down in 6-8 months, lasts 9-12 months), PLA (breaks down in 12-18 months, lasts 12-24 months), and PCL (breaks down in 18-24 months, lasts 24-36 months). For the V-line, traction matters, so cog threads are mainly chosen, with mono threads supporting collagen stimulation. The thread is selected at your consultation according to your skin thickness and degree of sagging.
Depending on the thread type used, results last about 9-12 months with PDO, 12-24 months with PLA, and 24-36 months with PCL. This varies between individuals depending on the rate of skin aging, changes in weight, and patterns of facial expression. The expected duration is explained according to the thread type selected at your consultation.
Most of the swelling lasts about 3-5 days and largely settles within 1-2 weeks. This varies between individuals depending on the treatment area and the number of threads, and mild irritation near the entry point goes away within a few days.
Besides the usual swelling, bruising, and tightness, temporary asymmetry, dimpling, or knot irritation may occur, and most of these settle with time. In rare cases, infection or thread exposure has been reported, and these are explained in advance at your consultation. A conservative plan that does not use an excessive number of threads lowers the risk of side effects.
The cost depends on the type of thread used (PDO/PLA/PCL), the number of threads, and whether other treatments are combined. The exact cost is provided after your visit, based on the distribution of sagging and the suitable thread type.
