Why Lisoom

Overview Non-Surgical Treatment That Addresses Contour
and Firmness Together with Microwave Energy

ONDA is a non-surgical lifting and body contouring device from DEKA that uses 2.45GHz microwave energy.
The microwaves make water molecules in the tissue vibrate to produce heat, and because the same frequency is readily absorbed by fat cells, it acts on the dermis and the subcutaneous fat layer at the same time.
The patented Coolwaves™ cooling protects the epidermis and lowers the risk of burns, and the energy source is distinct in its mode of action from radiofrequency and ultrasound.

How ONDA Works

Microwave Energy SUTURE guide image

SutureMicrowave Energy

The principle is that 2.45 GHz microwaves make the water molecules in skin tissue vibrate to generate heat. Because the same frequency is also selectively absorbed by fat cells, the energy reaches the subcutaneous fat layer without dispersing in the epidermis and upper dermis. It is a new energy source whose mode of action is distinct from radiofrequency and ultrasound.

HybridDermis and Fat Layer Together

Tightening from collagen stimulation is induced in the dermis, and fat cell reduction in the subcutaneous fat layer, at the same time. When applied to the face, it works to reduce localized fat in the jowl and double chin areas while also tightening loose skin. Addressing both layers with a single device is the key feature of ONDA.

Surface-Protecting Cooling PARTIAL guide image

PartialSurface-Protecting Cooling

The patented Coolwaves™ cooling system is combined with a contact temperature sensor, automatically regulating the epidermal temperature so that it does not rise excessively during treatment. The risk of burns is relatively low and discomfort is limited, so treatment can generally be performed without topical anesthesia. It is a non-surgical option that allows a return to daily activities right after treatment.

On the face, it is applied to refine the jowls, double chin, and jawline; on the body, it is used to refine cellulite and localized fat bulges on the abdomen, flanks, upper arms, and thighs. Separate handpieces for deep and superficial layers (Deep and Shallow) are used depending on the area, and even with the same device, intensity settings differ between the face and the body.

OUR PRINCIPLE

Core Values
The Principles RESUM Keeps

ONDA is a microwave device that acts on the dermis and fat layer at the same time. However, device specifications alone do not determine the result; assessing first whether it suits the structure of the patient's face and body is what determines the stability of the result.

Dermal & Fat Layer

Dermal & Fat Layer

Suitability First

For those with very little facial fat or a lean face with hollow cheeks, ONDA may instead lead to a tired-looking appearance. We first assess the patient's facial structure in the consultation, and if we judge it unsuitable, we honestly explain other options. We do not push the treatment.

Honest Scope

Honest Scope

Not Weight Loss

ONDA is not a weight-loss treatment but an option for addressing localized fat, contour, and firmness. It is not a substitute for whole-body dieting but is suited to refining the contour area by area, and results settle gradually as sessions accumulate. We do not promise dramatic change from 1 session.

Safe Intensity

Safe Intensity

Safe Range First

Having Coolwaves™ cooling does not mean we operate at maximum intensity. We work within a safe intensity range matched to the skin thickness, fat thickness, and pain sensitivity of each area, and prioritize cumulative stability over forcing a result from 1 session. We tend to run the treatment so that patients can ease into regular care without strain.

How Microwaves Work

How Microwaves Work

ONDA delivers 2.45GHz microwaves to the skin and generates heat by making the water molecules in the tissue vibrate. This frequency is readily absorbed by fat cells, so it tends to reach the subcutaneous fat layer without dispersing in the epidermis and upper dermis. It is an energy source whose very mode of action differs from radiofrequency (RF) and ultrasound. Water molecule vibration with 2.45GHz microwaves · Selective absorption by fat cells · Simultaneous action on the dermis and subcutaneous fat layer · An energy source distinct from RF and ultrasound

Simultaneous Dermis & Fat Layer Action and Surface Cooling

Simultaneous Dermis & Fat Layer Action and Surface Cooling

Tightening from collagen stimulation is induced in the dermis together with fat cell reduction in the subcutaneous fat layer, so a single device addresses both layers. The patented Coolwaves™ cooling is combined with a contact temperature sensor to keep the epidermal temperature from rising excessively during treatment. Because discomfort tends to be limited, treatment can generally be performed without topical anesthesia. Dermal collagen stimulation + fat cell reduction · Refinement of localized contours such as the jowls and double chin · Epidermal protection with Coolwaves™ cooling · Little anesthesia burden and a return to daily activities right after treatment

NOTICE

Precautions
Aftercare & Precautions

N · 01 ONDA is not a weight-loss treatment but an option in which microwaves act on the subcutaneous fat layer to refine localized contours and firmness.
N · 02 Patients with implanted electrical devices such as a pacemaker are not eligible for microwave treatment.
N · 03 ONDA treatment is not recommended during pregnancy.
N · 04 It is not applied to areas with active skin infection or severe inflammation.
N · 05 Coolwaves cooling protects the epidermis, but please avoid strong heat stimulation such as saunas and hot compresses for 1 week after treatment.
N · 06 ONDA may not be suitable for lean faces with very little facial fat, so we assess the facial structure first.
N · 07 The timing and degree of results may vary with individual constitution and fat distribution, so please consult Dr. Jin-Young Kim before treatment.

Doctor's Note

What most distinguishes ONDA from other lifting devices is that its microwaves act selectively on fat cells. That makes it a good option for suitable patients, but for those with very little facial fat it can instead lead to a tired-looking appearance, so careful assessment comes first. Rather than looking only at device specifications, I believe that honestly judging in the consultation whether it fits the patient's facial structure is the standard for results.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled the questions patients ask most often before a consultation.

ONDA is a non-surgical lifting and body contouring device that uses 2.45 GHz microwave energy to act on the dermis and subcutaneous fat layer at the same time. The microwaves make water molecules in the tissue vibrate to generate heat, and the same frequency is also selectively absorbed by fat cells, so localized fat reduction and collagen stimulation are induced together.
2.45 GHz microwaves make the water molecules in the tissue vibrate rapidly, generating frictional heat. This frequency is readily absorbed by fat cells, so the energy reaches the subcutaneous fat layer without dispersing in the epidermis and upper dermis. As a result, collagen contraction and regeneration are induced in the dermis together with fat cell reduction in the fat layer.
You may feel mild tightening right after treatment, and the results of new collagen formation and fat cell reduction appear gradually over 1-3 months. The change tends to settle in more stably as sessions accumulate.
You can return to daily activities right after treatment. Slight redness or a warm sensation may remain in the treated area for about 1-2 days, but in most cases it can be covered with makeup and tends not to interfere much with social activities.
As a normal recovery response, slight redness and mild swelling may occur for 1-2 days and settle on their own. Because Coolwaves™ cooling and a contact temperature sensor regulate the epidermal temperature, the risk of burns is relatively low; in rare cases, temporary hyperpigmentation or itching in the irritated area may occur.
The cost varies with the treatment area (face/body), the number of sessions, the handpiece selected, and whether it is combined with other treatments. The exact cost is explained after a consultation, according to the patient's condition.
