Overview Lifting Down to the Facial Expression Muscle Layer (SMAS)
to Naturally Refine Nasolabial Folds, Jowls, and Neck Lines

With age, the skin, fat, and muscles sag under gravity, causing wrinkles and laxity in the face, jaw, and neck.
A face and neck lift is a surgery that pulls sagging skin and facial expression muscles upward to refine nasolabial folds, jowls, and sagging neck folds (gobbler neck).

The key to a facelift is lifting down to the facial expression muscle layer (SMAS) as well, to naturally refine nasolabial folds, jowls, and neck lines.

POINT 03 Methods

High SMAS Lift & Its Advantages

What Is a High SMAS Lift?

The SMAS is the layer of facial expression muscles beneath the skin; the face is built of multiple tissue layers stacked like the layers of an onion.
With aging, changes appear in the skin, the fat layer, and the SMAS layer alike, so the most natural lift returns the skin, fat layer, and SMAS layer all to their original positions. A High SMAS lift lifts down to the SMAS layer to refine not only the jawline and neck lines but also the nasolabial folds.

Surgical Advantages

Blood supply to the skin is well maintained.
It helps not only with sagging tissue but also with neck lines and nasolabial folds.
Because the SMAS is lifted, a lifting effect is achieved with less tension on the skin, which can reduce scarring.
Results are natural and lasting.
