Removal of a Nasal Implant and Tip Cartilage Graft

The most accurate way to resolve the problems above is to remove the implant and the grafted tip cartilage.
If a problematic implant and tip cartilage are left untreated, a chain reaction leading to other side effects may occur.
The surgical method for resolving this:
Removal of the silicone, capsule, inflamed and scar tissue, and the ear cartilage at the tip through a closed approach

6 years ago, at another clinic, the patient had surgery on the bridge with silicone and on the tip with ear cartilage.
However, problems such as pressure, show-through, and extrusion developed, and the patient visited our clinic to have them resolved.
Pressure and tightness in the dorsum =>inflammatory response and foreign body reaction
Visible silicone contour and upturned tip => contracture and skin thinning
Ear cartilage grafted to the tip visible through the skin and leaving a mark => damage to the tip skin
These problems were present in combination, and the patient
wanted to return to the original nose rather than have revision surgery.

1) Removal of the silicone, capsule, and ear cartilage at the tip
2) Repositioning of the tip cartilages to bring the upturned nose down
*The surgery was performed through a closed approach, leaving no scar and aiming for a quick recovery, to minimize the burden on the patient.

By precisely removing the silicone, cartilage, and capsule that were causing the problems,
the discomfort the patient had felt and the problems in appearance were improved.

The silicone and the ear cartilage at the tip, which had shown through with visible edges, were removed through a closed approach,
and the capsule was also removed cleanly, to prevent side effects that could arise later as well.
After surgery, the dorsum is smooth, and the dorsal line looks natural with no skin irregularities.
There is little difference between 1 month and 4 months after removal, and the nose has settled stably, like the original nose.

From below as well, the tip has settled smoothly and naturally.
