Double eyelid surgery is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery, yet it is a very demanding procedure,

and there is no doubt that a good result is not easy to achieve.

The reasons are:

First, the eyelid is not a fixed structure but a dynamic one.

Second, there are two eyes, one on each side, and they must be symmetrical.

Third, the tissues around the eyes are connected to one another, so age-related

changes affect one another, and unexpected results can occur.

Eyes That Should Not Have Double Eyelid Surgery

1) Eyelids that are too thick and eyes that are small:

The likelihood that the crease will come undone easily or look unnatural is too high.

2) A distance between the eyebrow and the eye that is too narrow:

The distance between the eyebrow and the eye becomes even narrower and the area bulges, giving a harsh, unnatural impression.

3) Ptosis:

If only double eyelid surgery is performed without correcting the ptosis, the eyes open even less,

the crease does not form, and the eyes look sleepy.

This patient had double eyelid surgery 4 years earlier and came to us with the crease almost completely undone.

Epicanthoplasty was performed together with the revision surgery, and you can see that the eyes look larger and the crease folds somewhat better.

When the distance between the eyebrow and the eye is too narrow, a brow (forehead) lift is needed.

The distance between the eyebrow and the eye becomes even narrower and the area bulges, giving a harsh, unnatural impression.

A brow lift was recommended, but the patient insisted on double eyelid surgery, so it was performed with the incisional method.

After surgery, you can see that the area under the brow became bulging and the impression became harsher.

This patient had double eyelid surgery at another clinic 2 years earlier, but the crease came completely undone.

Examination showed that double eyelid surgery had been performed without correcting the ptosis, which is why the eyes looked sleepy and the crease did not form.

Ptosis correction, which tightens and raises the levator muscle, was therefore performed together with double eyelid surgery.

The right eye had both ptosis and a sunken area under the brow, and the crease had come undone.

Ptosis correction and fat grafting were performed together on the right eye, and you can see that complete symmetry was achieved.
