The eyes are regarded as the area where cosmetic surgery is performed most often.
The eyes are regarded as the area where plastic surgery is performed most often. Accordingly, surgery here changes a person's overall impression considerably, and there are many surgical methods.
Among them, lateral canthoplasty is chosen when the eyes are short in width or the outer corners slant upward, in order to lengthen the eyes and soften the look of the outer corners.
However, except in very special cases, I do not recommend surgery to lower the outer corners or lateral canthoplasty.
This is because these surgeries lead to side effects such as stinging eyes, excessive tearing, exposed red mucosa with redness, and outer corners that gape open in a "C" shape.
When such side effects occur,
reconstruction after lateral canthoplasty (lateral canthal reconstruction) is performed
to restore a clean outer corner.
