Short Nose Correction with Rib Cartilage (Nose Shortened by Infection After Injury)

A young man who originally had a well-shaped nose. After a nasal injury, the collapsed nose was corrected and raised with Gore-Tex at another hospital (a university hospital), but an infection developed after the surgery and the nose gradually shrank.
Because foreign materials and implants must never be used when infection is present,
rib cartilage was used to lengthen the nose, and each structure could be returned to its normal position.
