Side Effects of Double Eyelid Surgery in Middle Age: Cases

As aging progresses, all tissues sag from top to bottom.
Among them, the tissues around the eyes sag the fastest for several reasons,
and changes in the eye area and eyelids and in the forehead and glabella differ both in their causes and in how they appear.
To aid understanding, along with images of the changes around the eyes that come with aging,
we will look at cases of eyelid surgery for mature eyes, such as upper blepharoplasty and brow lift.

Some patients come for upper blepharoplasty because their eyes look closed-in when sagging skin covers the double eyelid.
However, when performing upper blepharoplasty, that is, double eyelid surgery, the distance between the eyebrow and the eye must be assessed carefully.
When the distance from the eyebrow to the frame of the eye is at least 18 mm, upper blepharoplasty is advisable.
If double eyelid surgery is performed when the distance is narrower than this,
the eyes often end up looking harsh or closed-in like this, so caution is needed.
In such cases, a brow lift is the answer.

Won-Suk Kook Plastic Surgery has been performing endoscopic brow lifts for 20 years.
A brow lift requires considerable experience and skill,
and it is a surgery that takes a long time to master.
In this method, about 5 vertical incisions of roughly 1 cm are made,
and an endoscope is inserted through them so that the surgery is performed while viewing the inside.
