Do difficult surgeries cause more side effects?Or is it the most commonly performed surgeries that cause more?
Here, “plastic surgery side effects” refers to cases in which the result of plastic surgery is not a normal one;
please understand it as a blanket term for any unwanted problem that has appeared.
What Are “Plastic Surgery Side Effects”?
Plastic surgery side effects are cases in which a cosmetic surgery or treatment
leaves behind inflammation, nerve damage, deformity caused by anatomical changes, functional impairment, and the like.
In other words, when a surgery or treatment leaves, cosmetically or functionally, an unwanted result or an abnormal result that does not usually occur, it is collectively called a “plastic surgery side effect,” and this is also a situation that calls for secondary or revision surgery.

As a result of an improperly performed double eyelid surgery, this patient
had a thick, heavy crease, the so-called “sausage” double eyelid.
To correct this, the patient wished to change the out-fold crease to an in-fold crease while
slightly reducing the crease height to create a natural-looking crease.
At 6 months after surgery, the double eyelid crease had settled naturally,
and it was corrected close to the in-fold crease the patient wanted.
Reducing the size of the double eyelid in this way while changing an out-fold crease to an in-out or in-fold crease
is the most common case encountered in revision double eyelid surgery,
and a satisfactory surgical result requires the following conditions.

This patient had double eyelid surgery 30 years ago.
However, even after so many years, marked traces of the surgery remained,
and the double eyelid of the left eye was too large, making the two eyelids asymmetric.
The patient also reported considerable fatigue when opening the eyes, and that the two eyes opened to different degrees and in different shapes.
Because of concerns about undergoing surgery, the patient wished to have only the left side, where the crease was large, operated on, so
surgery was performed to correct the left double eyelid.

At 3 months after surgery, the double eyelid has not yet fully settled, but
the size and shape of the two eyelids are similar, and the eyes open clearly.
As recovery continues, the crease will settle more naturally.
