Why Women in Their 20s Have a Brow Lift - Photo 1

A brow lift is not a surgery only for middle age and beyond.

Young women sometimes need a brow lift as well,

because when the eyebrows droop and the eyelids come down over the eyes, making them look small,

double eyelid surgery alone can hardly correct the problem.

In such cases, combining an endoscopic brow lift with double eyelid surgery can produce good results.

The eyelashes poke the eyes.

The eyes feel heavy and look small.

To open the eyes wide, the forehead has to be raised, which creates forehead wrinkles.

P/E
The upper eyelids are thick.
When looking straight ahead, about half of the iris is covered. The space between the eyebrows and the eyes is narrow. (Left photo)

Endoscopic brow lift, double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty

As the left photo shows, when she looks straight ahead, the eyebrows sit
5-6 mm below the superior orbital rim, so the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes is narrow, at about 11 mm.

Because the eyebrows and eyelids are therefore crowded together, the upper eyelids look thick,
and the eyelids droop and cover about half of the iris, so that it looks like blepharoptosis.

As the right photo shows, wrinkles form on the forehead when she opens her eyes wide.

If double eyelid surgery is performed in such a case, the narrow upper eyelid area looks even narrower, giving a fierce, harsh impression.
Therefore, when the eyebrows are lifted to widen the upper eyelid area and double eyelid surgery is performed together, the eyes become open and well-defined like this.

The right photo was taken 5 weeks after surgery; the swelling of the double eyelids has not fully subsided,
but the eyes can be seen to be open and well-defined, yet natural.

Procedures: endoscopic brow lift + epicanthoplasty + double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction

This shows her raising her eyebrows.

Compared with before surgery, she can open her eyes wider after surgery without distinct forehead wrinkles appearing.

The movement and position of the forehead and eyebrows depend on the brow elevator muscle (the muscle that raises the forehead and eyebrows), marked with a red line in the left illustration, and
the brow depressor muscles (the muscles that pull the forehead down and furrow the glabella), marked in blue,
which stay in balance by pulling against each other like a tug-of-war.

The principle of the endoscopic brow lift is to release the depressor muscles marked in blue
so that the remaining elevator muscle raises the eyebrows on its own.

Therefore, even when she raises her eyebrows after surgery, the depressor muscles no longer act,
so the eyebrows and forehead rise without the elevator muscle working hard, and forehead wrinkles do not form.

After surgery the eyebrows have risen, but because the eyelids have moved up with them,
the width of the upper eyelid area appears unchanged.

However, the eyes can be seen to be much larger.

This shows her frowning; after surgery, the glabella no longer furrows and the expression looks bright.

We are often asked whether releasing the brow depressor muscles, which pull down the forehead and glabella, causes any problems,

but these muscles serve only to furrow the glabella, so it causes no problems.

This shows her raising her eyebrows.

After surgery, the eyes look larger, yet no wrinkles form on the forehead.

From the side as well, with a neutral expression, frowning, and raising the eyebrows,

the same results can be seen in every view.
