The noses of Asian men are typically short and low, with a bulbous tip.

In male rhinoplasty, therefore, a short, low tip is lengthened and raised with
tip plasty, and a low nasal bridge is raised with augmentation rhinoplasty.

Tip plasty generally uses septal cartilage or ear cartilage, and
the nasal bridge uses artificial implants such as silicone or Gore-Tex, or
human tissue such as acellular dermal matrix (donor dermis) or autologous dermis.

Comparing silicone implants and acellular dermal matrix, the materials most commonly used to raise the nasal bridge,

with silicone, inflammation, contracture, implant show-through, and skin damage resulting in redness are among the side effects of concern, whereas
with acellular dermal matrix there is no need to worry about these side effects, and the shape of the nose is also very natural.

This patient had a low nasal bridge
and a short, bulbous tip, a typical
Asian male nasal shape.
At the consultation, the patient also wanted the wide, flared alar base
to be brought in naturally.

Surgery was performed using ear cartilage for the tip and acellular dermal matrix for the nasal bridge.
The tip was lengthened and raised, and acellular dermal matrix 5-6mm in height was placed in the nasal bridge.
After surgery, the nasal bridge can be seen to be naturally higher, and the nose is sufficiently longer,
giving a masculine-looking nasal bridge.

The bulbous tip has also been refined, and the flared alar base has been brought in, giving a sleek appearance.
With acellular dermal matrix, if no problems such as inflammation appear within 2 weeks after surgery,
there is no concern that problems will appear afterward.

With the tip supported and raised, the alar base has been brought in naturally.
The flared nose has narrowed, giving it a sleeker shape.

The nose is sufficiently longer and the nasal bridge is well defined.
With the bulbous tip refined, the alar base has also slimmed naturally.

From the low nasal bridge and short, bulbous tip characteristic of Asian men's noses,
a straight, well-extended nose that gives a clean impression has emerged.
