At a glance

What is One-Point Ultherapy?

One-Point Ultherapy is ultrasound lifting limited to the one or two areas where sagging shows most, using the same Ultherapy device and 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm transducers as a full-face session. The areas treated most often are the jawline and under the chin, the nasolabial folds, the eye area and the cheek below the cheekbones.

Line counts differ by area: about 150-250 for the jawline and under the chin, about 200 for the nasolabial folds, about 100 around the eyes and about 150-200 for the cheek below the cheekbones. Lines are placed under DeepSEE real-time ultrasound imaging.

How long does One-Point Ultherapy take?

One-Point Ultherapy takes 20-40 minutes, and you can go back to daily activities right after it. Washing your face and basic skincare are allowed the same day. Tell us your travel dates when you book, because the consultation decides first whether a partial session is the right plan for you.

When is One-Point Ultherapy not the right choice?

One-Point Ultherapy is not suitable when sagging is spread across the face. In that case a full-face session gives a more stable result, and treating one part alone can leave a visible boundary with the areas next to it. Deep nasolabial folds are a second limit: the treatment tightens sagging but does not fill a fold, so filler is sometimes recommended alongside it.

Purpose & suitability

Sagging bothers you in one or two places, such as the jawline, the nasolabial folds, the eye area or below the cheekbones, and the remainder of your face does not.

A full-face session feels like more than you need.

You had full-face Ultherapy before and want to reinforce one area.

You need to stage treatment because of time or cost and want the doctor to tell you which area comes first.

Treatment process

  1. Choosing the area. Dr. Jin-Young Kim picks out the one or two areas where sagging is most visible and tells you plainly whether One-Point or full-face treatment fits better.
  2. Line plan. The transducer mix, the number of lines and the transition into neighbouring areas are mapped to the skin thickness and SMAS position of the chosen area.
  3. Focused treatment. Lines are concentrated on that area while the tissue is watched on the DeepSEE screen.
  4. Aftercare briefing. The skin is soothed, then we explain care for redness and tenderness, when change builds up and whether a later top-up is worth considering.

Time & recovery

A stinging feeling, mild warmth or temporary redness in the treated area usually settles within a few days. Tenderness when the spot is pressed can take 1-2 weeks to fade.

For about a week, keep heat and pressure away from the treated area: no saunas, no Korean dry saunas (jjimjilbang) and no strong massage. Moisturise and use sun protection more carefully than usual.

Change appears slowly over 2-3 months, even when a single area is treated intensively. Expect most of it after you are home.

Limitations & precautions

Around the eyes the plan is the most conservative: 1.5 and 3.0 mm are the main depths, and nothing is treated inside the orbital rim.

Temporary swelling, tightness, slight bruising and irritation are the reactions described for this treatment.

A single session does not refine every contour to the same degree, because sagging differs from area to area. Further treatment is discussed as your progress is followed, and results vary between individuals.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit One-Point Ultherapy into a short trip to Seoul?

Yes, One-Point Ultherapy takes 20-40 minutes and daily activities can resume right after it. If the jawline or nasolabial folds are treated, swelling may be visible for a few days, so RESUM recommends keeping important engagements off your schedule for a few days before and after.

Who decides which area is treated?

Dr. Jin-Young Kim decides the area with you in a 1:1 consultation at RESUM Plastic Surgery Clinic in Gangnam. The doctor identifies the one or two places where sagging is most noticeable and says so directly if full-face treatment would serve you better.

Can it replace filler for nasolabial folds?

No, One-Point Ultherapy and filler do different jobs. About 200 lines placed below the cheekbone and around the folds address the sagging itself, which is not the same as filling a fold. For deep nasolabial folds, combining the treatment with filler is sometimes recommended.

Is it suitable as a touch-up after full-face Ultherapy?

Yes, a partial touch-up after full-face treatment is one of the situations One-Point Ultherapy is used for. It also suits sagging limited to one area and plans that have to be staged for time or cost.

When will I see the result if I fly home the next day?

Some change from One-Point Ultherapy is visible right after the session, and the rest usually appears slowly over 2-3 months while new collagen forms over 2-6 months. The moment people notice it varies, so RESUM does not promise a fixed timeline. The overview figure for how long it lasts is about 12 months.
